Students attending the 2017 Conference and Career Fair are invited to participate in an exciting pro bono opportunity during the event hosted by members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Human Rights First as part of the ABA's National Celebration of Pro Bono Week!
Student volunteers will have the opportunity to work with legal aid and pro bono attorneys to assist asylum seekers from the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
To be eligible to participate, students must be registered for the Conference and Career Fair and the pro bono project, and are required to attend a two hour training session on Friday, October 27, as well as the entirety of the Pro Bono Day of Service on Saturday, October 28. Students are asked to bring their laptops to the day of service.
Student volunteer slots for the pro bono opportunity are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. After we've reached capacity, you are encouraged to still sign up and be placed on a wait list as some spots may open up.
Spanish language proficiency is preferred, but not required.
REGISTRATION FOR THE PRO BONO DAY OF SERVICE IS CLOSED, BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ADDED TO THE WAITING LIST, YOU MAY STILL SIGN UP HERE.
